Dutch term or phrase: indexeerstap
I am currently translating a short user manual ("gebruikers-autorisatie in EASY 5") for a commercial bank and am struggling with the above term.

The context is as follows:

Can I simply use the phrase "indexing step"?

indexing step
Explanation:
Yes, in my opinion 'indexing step' would be a correct translation in this case. The 7th letter seems to function as an index here, and together with the 1st 6 characters as a kind of base address, it forms the whole address.
