Dutch to English translations [PRO]
Medical - IT (Information Technology)
Dutch term or phrase: schipholbord
This is concerned with IT equipment for a hospital:

Een ‘Schipholbord’ is een grafisch overzicht van alle spoedeisende hulp waarvoor onderzoekskamers nodig zijn. In dit overzicht ziet u welke patiënt zich waar bevindt, met welke klachten en met welke urgentie.

This explanation makes it clear what it is, but is there an English equivalent for this term? The link below also includes a photo of a 'schipholbord'

English translation:wardboard
Explanation:
"Schiphol" is of course the name of the largest airport in the Netherlands near Amsterdam. I assume that the name "schipholbord" was invented because the allocation of patients and emergencies to hospital rooms is likened to the allocation of pasengers to erminals at the airport. For any Dutch person this comparison is self-evident. Not so, however for most other countries. If the translation would be focused on the UK the term heathrowboard doen't have the same connotation and impact as it does in Dutch. Hence my creative solution that rhymes and is catchy.

digital patient flow schedule

Explanation:
Compare the description of the "Patient Flow Manager" on the first website. It is a program to do more or less the same thing in a busy medical office.

If you want to stay in the airport sphere, you could say 'patient traffic control screen'. The second website has an interesting article on this concept.
