Apparently there is a "lokale" and "centrale sessie",
and I know it's something I will have heard of,
but I just can't think of it at the moment.

I'd go for remote in this context.

Unfortunately "centrale sessie" doesn't seem to be common usage for IT either... I'd make a note with this one or request more info.

Asker: I think that's probably right Lianne - much as I wanted to use "central session" for convenience, it doesn't seem to be used in IT at all.
