Een middelenverbintenis ligt voor indien de emittent zich ertoe verbonden heeft om zich naar best vermogen in te spannen om een gewenst resultaat te bereiken. Wanprestatie zal er slechts zijn als de emittent niet alle middelen heeft ingezet om het resultaat te bereiken. De inspanningen worden getoetst aan de inspanningen die een goede huisvader, geplaatst in dezelfde omstandigheden, zou gedaan hebben

Although I think Deborah is right that it would not take a lot of Googling to figure this out. I had never heard of it, not used to Belgian law ;).

uit dezelfde bron: ook in het Belgisch recht wordt de tweedeling gemaakt, alleen wordt inspanningsverplichting middelenverbintenis genoemd, waarschijnlijk door de Franse invloed (zie boven): .... dan wel een juridische verplichting. Deze laatste groep wordt dan weer onderverdeeld in twee groepen namelijk naargelang er een middelenverbintenis wordt aangegaan of een resultaatsverbintenis69.
De vertaling waar je voor kiest hangt van eigen smaak af, nu weet je wat er bedoeld wordt!
