Dutch term or phrase: ontslag op eigen verzoek
"In geval van *ontslag op eigen verzoek* binnen de overeengekomen uitzendtermijn zal werknemer de door wergever gemaakte eenmalige uitzendkosten vergoeden."

IMHO and based on what I've seen on Dutch-language sites, this amounts to nothing more than giving notice. My question is then whether "to give notice" suffices, or whether there's another way of expressing it more legally. TIA. Cheers, R.

agree  Lawyer-Linguist: Robert: the Dutch just says "op eigen verzoek" because ontslag can mean either resignation or dismissal, since we don't have that issue in English there's no need to go further than resignation. Anything added to translate op eigen verzoek is tautological
