Dutch to English translations [PRO] Bus/Financial - Law: Contract(s)
Dutch term or phrase:hierarchische oversten
From a contract of employment: I know the intention is not "hierarchical superior" as opposed to "intellectual superior" or any other kind of superior, but could it mean "direct/immediate superior"? Or is it simply synonymous with "superior"?

Code of Conduct
If any violations of law or company policy are uncovered, I will, to the extent provided in company policies, implement immediate corrective action, which will include communicating the violation to my reporting superior, cooperating in investigating the situation, seeing that restitution is made to any clients or employees harmed, and implementing procedures that preclude recurrence.

Our company policy for this program will be as follows:
1. Employees may utilize this benefit (once a year), (once a quarter), (once a month), (no more than once a week), (without limit as long as it is not abused)
2. Employees must secure prior approval from (reporting superior), (boss)
3. Employees must secure prior approval at least (six months in advance), (a month in advance), (a week in advance), (two days in advance)

'Reporting superior' is quite a common term and would automatically imply the hierarchy implied in the Dutch/Flemish term.
Could you please post the context from your source text.

FYI, Dylan, my reference is designed more as an aid than an answer. Jarry (or perhaps someone else who posts another, superior solution later) has done the real research and, as such, deserves the points. Having said that, I still think your options are still valid. Cheers, R.
