Dutch term or phrase: "(rechts)handeling"
My question is, what do you do when confronted with the word "rechtshandeling", but with "rechts" in parentheses?

-> "(legal) acts"

or

-> "legal acts"

-----------
context:

"Overeenkomst: iedere overeenkomst die tussen CompanyX en Cliënt tot stand komt, elke Offerte of andere aanbieding daartoe, wijziging daarvan of aanvulling daarop, alsmede alle (rechts)handelingen ter voorbereiding en ter uitvoering van die overeenkomst;" +

"Deze Voorwaarden maken deel uit van alle Overeenkomsten en zijn van toepassing op alle daarmee verband houdende (rechts)handelingen van CompanyX en Cliënt."

legal and other dealings
Explanation:
I agree with Olly's reasoning about the parentheses (which are the bane of a Dutch-English translator's life), but not his translation, for two reasons:

I don't think "activities" is the right choice of word in this context
I think "legal and otherwise" could imply "legal and illegal".

So it would be "legal and other dealings between company X and the client".

agree  Barend van Zadelhoff: Why not. You can't do the same in English: English readers aren't expecting space-saving techniques to be used in running text and therefore interpret them as attempts to be clever and joky (Joy Burrough). You need to mention both meanings separately.

agree  Mark Straver: Although I would still go for "acts" in favour of "dealings"; after all, a "rechtshandeling" is a "legal act" or "juridical act" - perhaps write it out even more to "legal acts and other dealings"?
