Dutch term or phrase: bijkomende schade
Context the "Warranty and Liability" chapter of a Distribution Agreement:

"De distributeur vrijwaart X uitdrukkelijk van alle aanspraken van eindgebruikers uit hoofde van de garantie en/of de door of namens de distributeur verrichte reparaties en overige werkzaamheden.

De distributeur zal X onmiddellijk op de hoogte stellen van alle klachten met betrekking tot de producten die de distributeur mocht ontvangen.

Indien er sprake is van bijkomende schade van de distributeur, de eindafnemer of derden, gelden hiervoor uitdrukkelijk de bepalingen van het in de Algemene Voorwaarden opgenomen aansprakelijkheidsartikel."

Elsewhere (http://www.proz.com/kudoz/english_to_dutch/law_general/11131... "gevolgschade of bijkomende schade" is translated as "consequential or incidental damages". But damages and damage are obviously quite different.

In my sentence above, wouldn't "additional damage" fit better?

Explanation:
This is often used in insurance text.

Strictly speaking, "ancillary" means that it is not the main damage, but secondary damage caused by something else.

collateral damages


Explanation:
"Collateral damage" is de vertaling van nevenschade. Het is oorspronkelijk een militaire term, maar wordt nu ook elders gebruikt. Het is ook de vertaling die ik tegenkom in het juridisch woordenboek.
