Dutch to English translations [PRO] Law/Patents - Law: Taxation & Customs / On an estimated tax return, Netherlands/voorlopige aanslag | | Dutch term or phrase: vergoede heffingsrente | So, if I understand it rightly, 'heffingsrente' is the amount of money which is to be paid after a definitive/final tax return has been sent, possibly correcting the estimated one. But what is 'vergoed' then? What they have returned if the money paid on the estimated tax return was too much after all?
And how do I put that nicely?
There is nothing except 'vergoede heffingsrente', I suppose some money paid too much. |

I know it's Russian, but "death and taxes"......
9. An overpaid amount of tax is refunded at the expense of the budget (extra-budgetary fund) to which overpayment was made within one month of the submission of a petition requesting the refund unless otherwise decreed by this Code.
If the above deadlines are not met, the overpaid amounts of tax or charge that are not refunded in due time accrue interest for each day of delayed refund.

"Vergoede" could be either "charge" or "payment" |

| Grading comment I used this in the end, which was in line with the wish of the Dutch government to promote 'saving through the tax office' :D. 4 KudoZ points were awarded for this answer |
