It seems to me that Mr Servotte was barking up the wrong tree on this occasion. All the websites that refer to \"bedrijfsheffing\" are Belgian, and all seem to refer to what is known in the Netherlands as \"loonbelasting\", or simply payroll tax, which is a form of input tax withheld by the employer (or withholding agent (pensions, etc.)) that is later deducted from any income tax owing on wages or salaries, etc. earned in employment.

Thanks to all.
I'll go with the advance levy (that I had used provisonally anyway), since it concerns withholdings of taxes due on insiurance payouts, i.e. personal income.

Similar to PAYE : Pay as you earn (PAYE) is the system under which income tax is deducted at source from
wages and salaries paid to employees. The employer is required to calculate and deduct income tax each time a payment is made to the employee.
