Dutch term or phrase: gefacilieerde bedrijfsfusie
This term is used in a letter from the Tax office. The phrase is as follows:
"Ik ben van mening dat een gefacilieerde bedrijfsfusie niet mogelijk is."
Hetty Gill
merger will not meet the terms of the tax facility
Explanation:
A 'gefacilieerde fusie' is a merger that meets the requirements set by the tax administration to qualify for some beneficial tax facility. In this sense, the sentence you quote from the letter from the Belastingdienst means the inspector is of the opinion that the merger, as proposed, will not meet the terms required to qualify for the tax facility.

Presumably, he is responding to a detailed merger proposal sent by a taxpayer together with a request for a ruling ('zekerheid vooraf') on the tax consequences of the proposed merger.

agree  sparow: with writeaway, not myself. Careless googling can lead to bad translating... guilty as charged!

  -> it is a question of assisted merger of two entities by ???

neutral  writeaway: can you provide refs? it may be a straightforward, literal dico translation but is that all that is needed here? if you Google "a facilitated merger" there are no hits at all. so if you can back your answer, please do.

  -> Sorry, I don't have references.

neutral  Andre de Vries: sounds OK - but what does it actually mean?

  -> it is a situation of assisted merger of two entities by???

disagree  Zsanett Rozendaal-Pandur: I think you misunderstood the source term. "Gefacilieerde fusie" is a noun phrase, and "gefacilieerde" is an adjective; it is not a verb phrase, so it doesn't mean the somebody facilitated the merger, which is what you meant, seeing your replies.
