Law/Patents - Law (general) / reference to prior proceedings
Dutch term or phrase: exhibitie-incident
It is a reference to a prior case. I found this on the Net:
In het exhibitie-incident: X B.V. vordert dat Bakmans wordt bevolen aan haar gewaarmerkte kopieën te verstrekken van door haar in haar incidentele conclusie in nummer 2 aangeduide stukken.... and the case I'm working on has to do with surrending documents. TIA

interlocutory application for (civ.) discovery/(crim.) disclosure of documents/

Explanation:
Incident in FR is a pre-trial step or interim/interlocutory application whilst the case is going on. So I'm surprised to see the Dutch equivalent isn't confined to Belgium, but reckon the French influence is still in there.

Whilst the term discovery used to be the term in civ. litigation up to 10 years ago, civil justice reforms in the UK have tried to make the terminology user-friendlier by dropping discovery and using disclosure in both civ. and crim. cases. But discovery may well still be used in other Eng.-speaking/Brit. Comm. countries.

Example sentence(s):
  • am satisfied that the plaintiff is entitled to recover the fee for preparing and lodging the interlocutory application to the chief
