Law/Patents - Law (general) / Beschikking van Immigratie- en Naturalisatiedienst | | Dutch term or phrase: betrokkene | Context: aanvraag tot het wijzigen van een verblijfsvergunning regulier voor bepaalde tijd, ingediend door een zekere meneer X. In de 'Beschikking' wordt deze man verder aangeduid als 'betrokkene'.
Vraag: Mag ik 'betrokkene' vertalen met 'the applicant', of moet het zoiets zijn als 'person in question'? |

In teksten voor de Britse douane kom ik voor 'betrokkene' ook vaak 'subject' tegen, als iemand die een bepaald juridisch proces ondergaat. Misschien ook hier te overwegen? Hangt af van het oogpunt van de tekst, uiteraard.

'Person in question' was the first thing that came to my mind, but on second thoughts I would say 'applicant' is more appropriate in this context.

@Asker: Je kunt het nog 'n beetje goed maken door 'applicant' en evt. 'person in question' in de KudoZ Open Glossary (KOG) te zetten (zie rechtsboven) :-)
