Yes and before you ask :-))....it is a Flemish text but there is just so little response these days on that site, I'm posting directly on Dutch (NL).
Appears twice in the application I'm translating and need confirmation as to whether this is a specific portion of the application (if so not identified) or what I'm inclined to think - reference to the content thereof as a whole.
1. pre-judgement attachment of the movable assets that are located in Antwerp harbour as identified in the *dispositief* of this application,
2. pre-judgement garnishment of the amounts owing by the Belgian customers of the defendant as identified in the *dispositief* of this application
Explanation: If as is frequently the case in Flemish this is derived from French then this may well be the appropriate translation. See google for more references

Hi Kate, great help thanks - "operative part" is the sense. Drawing on an analogy with Portuguese, I'd got my head as far as "the substance of" as opposed to just mere content - as the norm with these Flemish legal texts the French influence is strong in places. Keep well and thanks for helping out so late.
In other words, the movable assets and the amounts owing to the defendant by third parties are therefor mentioned in the application in other words but not under any specific heading.

The word seems to have mostly to do with an instrument or device of some sort, or a mechanism. It also seems that this word is often used without the modifier that might normally go with it to help define it('de' plus another noun in Spanish or other Romance languages).

Living just across the border (in several respects - not just because of taxes and the like - on the wrong side) and having enjoyed Flemish (Guide Gezelle, Felix Timmermans, Hugo Claus)often even more than my mother tongue, I\'ve come across \'dipositief\' several times.
Admittedly. without the challenge of rendering the meaning in English.
My preliminary conclusion is that this Flemish \'dispositief\' is virtually used as a synonym of \'ABN\' \'dispositie\'.
