Een stukje uit de context: "Je bent energiek en creatief en *je kijkt verder dan je neus lang is*. Je bent geboeid door wat er gaande is in bedrijven en je bent vooral geïnteresseerd in de mensen die daar werken."
Met de oplossing van de Grote Van Dale ben ik niet zo gelukkig (volgens mij veel te letterlijk): "you are able to see further than (the end of) your nose"; bovendien wordt het hier in de negatieve betekenis gebruikt (to be unable ... niet verder kijken dan ...). Is er een natuurlijker Engelse uitdrukking? Ik denk zelf aan iets met additional, supplementary of furthermore. Any help will be appreciated! |

In this context, thinking outside the box seems to be a popular expression meaning that you are not rigid, but flexible and can use your imagination. Whether that would fit or not....

For a given problem, some people tend to explore solutions in the unknown world, which requires creativity, mental toughness, agility and boldness. Often the individual is a leader in the true sense, but we do not have to be leaders to think outside the box.
