Text about a "zuurwasser" used as an air purification equipment for a stock farming facility.

The word "zuurtrap" comes in the following (isolated) strings:

I am translating "zuurwasser" (into Italian) as "scrubber", so I need a more specific term for "zuurtrap" (or a less specific term for "zuurwasser" I guess).

Asker: Thank you Michael. As a Dutch native speaker you find it possible, or even normal, that the English word "trap" has been used as such (with the original meaning) in the compound word "zuurtrap" despite the fact that "trap" has a different meaning in Dutch? Are there more samples like this one coming to mind?

agree  Josephine Isaacs: Acid trap is certainly used in agriculture in this context (in English) and refers to an acid solution.

agree  toybox: An acid trap [= vang] is a filter area in a scrubber used to prevent the free flow of acid or to capture acid. There are plenty of explanations and reliable definitions on the internet to verify this.
