Dutch to English translations [PRO] Bus/Financial - Manufacturing / industrial context | | Dutch term or phrase: brigadier | This appears in a Flemish text; the client is a large industrial firm (which has replied to previous terminology questions by saying that it 'relies entirely on the translator for the translations'), but the text was written by a consulting firm.
The actual classification should be 'industrial', but that option isn't available.
Two samples in specific context:
(1) In a discussion of hazard control measures:
Deze keuze van beheersmaatregelen wordt jaarlijks, onder verantwoordelijkheid van het Afdelingshoofd, door de betrokken brigadier en de betrokken medewerkers doorgenomen om de adequaatheid van de gekozen beheersmaatregelen te meten en te evalueren.
(2) In a discussion of control of material damage:
Door de Directeur is... een systeem ontworpen dat de materiële schadegevallen identificeert, toewijst en analyseert. Dit systeem maakt het mogelijk dat materiële schadegevallen onderscheiden worden van de normale slijtagegevallen en gemeld worden en dit door:
· de direct leidinggevenden van de afdeling waar de schade is opgelopen en;
· de onderhoudsbrigadiers die de schade herstellen.

| | foreman | Explanation: I know that a brigadier can be a fire chief. but found on Eurodicatom in an industrial context that it can also mean foreman. Since it's a Belgian text, I assume the French will help.
