Dutch to English translations [PRO]
Tech/Engineering - Mechanics / Mech Engineering
Dutch term or phrase: dragen
Controleer of the consoles zijn uitgelijnd en dragen op de fundatie.
Ligt dit aan mij of is dit een vreemd gebruik van dragen? Ik zou zelf zeggen: Check if the consoles are aligned and are firmly placed onto the foundation. Any suggestions???

Explanation:
I think you are right - this is a rather strange way to use 'dragen'. The context certainly would suggest that the consoles need to be firmly supported by the foundation, so '..worden gedragen door..' would be more logical.

Explanation:
I'd use 'pedestal' instead of 'foundation' in this context:
check if the consoles are aligned and are firmly placed onto the pedestal.

Concise Oxford Dictionary: pedestal = an upright support of a machine or apparatus.

128000 googles for pedestal in combination with console, excluding lavatory, lavatories, bathroom and bathrooms :-)
