Dutch to English translations [PRO] Tech/Engineering - Mechanics / Mech Engineering
Dutch term or phrase:PLAATFREES
No context, just a list od tools and accesories. The customer is Dutch, my text is, I think, a translation from Dutch into English, but very often with Dutch terms left ;(
Manufacturer - FABORY :) Full entry is: FABORY HSS PLAATFREES

I realise what HSS is Jack, and that it is a common metal for making cutting tools for simple/softer metal, concrete and wood, e.g. drill bits. For harder materials you often have (industrial) diamonds or diamond dust added, as in oil boring heads for hard rocks. That is why I suggested that we could be talking about the cutters (spare parts perhaps) rather than the entire milling or routing machine.
If my assumption about the cutting piece itself being referred to is correct, by the way, then I think Dave would agree with me that the term 'plate router' is not applicable here.
Fits the bill exactly in my opinion! As Dave suggested on the basis of the reference to HSS, though, I think it's the cutting piece itself that is referred to, not the machine as a whole. Not that this would make difference in a list of terms I presume.
Jack, you are right!!! I know, my context is very poor, but my list has more than 6000 terms... Sheet cutter/sheet router don't match in this case:( It’s quite complicate, as English is in this case only a relay language, my target is Polish :(. My base are Web sites with tools, my customer is dealing with more than 100 manufacturers, I almost know their catalogues by heart. I have 10 main terms left and same 20 secondary terms.... Any way every help is welcome :)
