Explanation:
Kluwer GPW: hevel = siphon; kiphefboom = kipping lever; kipinrichting = tilting device

Tilting siphons schijnen vooral voor neerslagmeting te worden gebruikt. Mijn eerste indruk is dat dit hier niet van toepassing is, vandaar de lage 'confidence level'.

agree  Ken Cox: I'd go for 'toggle' in this case (it appears to be mechanical, not electrical), or toggle clamp. Perhaps 'kiphevel' is a (bastard) cousin of German 'Kipphebel'.

Explanation:
Het betreft niet het elektrische contact, dat idd met 'switch' kan worden aangeduid, maar het vastzetmechanisme van de zwenkarm. Ik stel mij voor dat dit een mechanische constructie zoals het slot van een tuinhekje is oid. 'Latch' lijkt mij dan de juiste uitdrukking.
