Dutch to English translations [PRO] Tech/Engineering - Mechanics / Mech Engineering / Machine manual | | Dutch term or phrase: toerenstopper | "de speling tussen de slaghamers en de toerenstoppers moet correct zijn"
This is the manual for an industrial machine for crushing wood with hammers rotating on a shaft. Toerenstoppers has me utterly stumped - any bright ideas? |
| | | stop rotor or rotor brake | Explanation: It looks like you are talking of some kind of hammer mill. Although the site given in the example below is not showing a hammer mill for wood, the principle is similar. The typical problem with equipment using rotors is how to slow and/or stop the rotor. I suspect that your toerenstopper may be a mechanism used to stop or brake the rotor and these are commonly called rotor brakes or stop rotors. I am guessing at this for want of further context. |

| Grading comment Thanks, it was indeed a hammer mill. Sorry for the lack of context but I needed to be a bit careful re confidentiality - maybe too careful! 4 KudoZ points were awarded for this answer |
