Dutch to English translations [PRO]
Tech/Engineering - Mechanics / Mech Engineering / industrial bread machine
Dutch term or phrase: stroomopwaartse buur
In principe kiest de besturing automatisch een recept uit de database om in zijn werkgeheugen te zetten. Wanneer
er een nieuwe productsoort aankomt, krijgt de besturing het nieuwe receptnummer van zijn stroomopwaartse buur. De besturing zet vervolgens op het juiste tijdstip het recept met het nieuwe nummer in zijn werkgeheugen.

This bread machine is a huge piece of equipment that is actually made up of a number of machines, each with their own control boxes, and together they form the bread maker. 'Stroomopwaartse buur' refers to the direction the new recipe is implemented in the machine (first at the dough mixing station, then the proofing cabinet, etc.), but I'm not absolutely sure how to word that in this technical document.

Any suggestions?

upstream neighbour, neighbouring upstream unit, station etc.
Explanation:
Upstream and downstream are commonly used expressions in process control and could be used here in my opinion.
