Dutch to English translations [PRO]
Tech/Engineering - Mechanics / Mech Engineering / microbiology
Dutch term or phrase: tulp
Uit een document over het monteren van labfermentoren:

Voorzie de volgende uiteinden van melkfilters:
- d. De twee entslangen van de zijtuit van de tweetulp

Beschrijving vervangen glazen cilindertje in 2- of 4-tulp
- Vervang indien nodig de siliconen ringen in de boven en onderuitsparing van de toeloop tulp

Heeft iemand een idee wat 'tulp' in deze context betekent? En hoe heet zoiets in het Engels?

Bij voorbaat bedankt.

English translation:tulip / bell
Explanation:
GWIT (Grote woordenboek voor industrie & techniek) has a number of references to "tulp" (tulpatroon / tulpstekker / tulpkoppeling wherein the English (somewhat logically) is transalted to a simple "tulip" except in the case of tulpkoppeling where it's a bell connector. Hope this helps

Notes to answerer
Asker: Thank you Andrew. It's just that I can't seem to find any relevant Google hits regarding '2-tulp', 'tweetulp', '2 tulip', 'two tulip' etc. For the moment I am going for 'tulip' though, as you suggested, for want of anything better.
