the text also talks of "optitreren" - I suspect that they mean the same thing. the text has been copied from hand-written answers by someone without knowledge of medicine I suspect.

Ik weet niet wat de Engelse term voor deze techniek is, maar je zou het kunnen omschrijven als 'has to be separated with a pipette'. Zie uitleg van de techniek hieronder:

Filter-tip Een van de mooiste microschaal-technieken is het “opfiltreren”. Met een glazen pasteurpipet die stevig op de bodem van een reageerbuisjewordt gedrukt, wordt de vloeistof van de kristallen gescheiden. Sommigekristallen zijn echter te klein voordeze techniek. Dan moet toch con-ventioneel afgefiltreerd worden. Dehoeveelheden zijn klein, het is be-langrijk om elk verlies te voorkomen.
