Between June 2001 and April 2002, 85 patients with 86 bifurcation lesions were enrolled in the study and assigned to either double stenting (group A, n=43) or Stent/PTCA (group B, n=43). Sixty-one cases involved the left anterior descending/diagonal bifurcation, 15 the left circumflex/obtuse marginal, and 5 the distal right coronary artery/posterior descending right coronary artery; there were also 2 bifurcations of a diagonal branch and a small SB, 2 right coronary artery/right ventricular branches, and 1 bifurcation of the left anterior descending coronary artery with a large septal branch.
