| | Long nerve(s) (pathways) | Explanation: Just a guess: long nerve pathways / system?
E.g. The two sides of the diaphragm sre supplid by the two phrenic nerves. These are long nerves that start from the upper neck (C2-4 levels), pass through the thorax on either side of the heart, and reach the diaphragm. Despite their theoretical vulnerability due to their length, their isolated involvement is quite rare. Isolated weakness of the left (but not the right) hemidiaphragm is relatively common among normal aymptomatic people.

I think this may refer to the \"lange baansystemen\", e.g.
\"Gebleken is echter dat ook de perifere zenuwen, andere lange baansystemen en voorts een aantal kleinere verbindingsbanen in het centrale zenuwstelsel zijn aangetast.\"

In which case a more likely solution could be \"long pathway\", i.e.
\"Begin by considering each sign or symptom in turn and determining the structure(s) that might be damaged to produce that symptom. If a long pathway is involved, do not come to a hasty conclusion about where it is interrupted. Let the other information guide you to the correct location.\"
