In the description of an aortocoronary bypass operation:
"de ramus anteriolateralis verloopt vroeg myocardiaal"

Help with this phrase would be much appreciated.

English translation:deviates early toward the myocardium
Explanation:
The ramus anterior lateralis, lateral anterior branch, the former name for the ascending anterior branch of the left pulmonary artery. The shorter of the two terminal branches of the pulmonary trunk, it pierces the pericardium to enter the hilum of the left lung.

At first glance this would be my first guess. I have included 2 links regarding this term. In Dutch the nerve "verloopt" so visually I see this nerve alongside some structures surrounding the heart until finally it pierces the myocardium (outer layer of heart) and the pericardium (sack around heart). It probably does this at a pre-defined spot, but in this case, a little higher up than usual. This is an educated guess; only a physician could tell you exactly what this means!
