De tonus van de spieren wordt orthosympathisch gecontroleerd. Door een blockade, dysfunctional vertebra, gaat het segment hoger of lager moeten compenseren om het bewegingsverlies van de blockade op te vangen, dit segment wordt hypermobiel.
