Dutch term or phrase: staande huidplooien
Not may Google hits for this expression at all - I assume from context (signs of dehydration) that the writer is referring to wrinkling, but would appreciate confirmation or correction for good measure:

Het klinisch onderzoek toonde een patiënt in matige algemene toestand met tekenen van dehydratie (droge tong en *staande huidplooien*).

No other context of relevance to offer - the discussion moves on from this point and this is the only reference.

Peer comments on this answer (and responses from the answerer)
agree  Ron Hartong PhD: Given the construction of the phrase, I would say 'remaining' (or 'staying') folded - apart from that small detail, I agree completely.

  -> Thank you, Ron. I was in two minds about this and finally I chose 'remains' because I considered the phrase between brackets to be further details on dehydration

agree  Suzan Hamer: I have seen such phrases as "skin remains pinched" or "skin fold remains visible"...

  -> Thank you, Suzan.

  -> Thank you.

agree  Sue Stewart-Anderson: but personally would say 'skins remains elevated/pinched/tented' rather than 'folded'

  -> Many thanks for the suggestions, Sue. They may come in handy some time or other.
