English translation: surgical removal of brain

Dutch term or phrase: hersenprelevatie
Same pathology report has the word hersenprelevatie. Now the word prelevatie is not even a word according to the Grote Van Dale dictionary.

English translation:surgical removal of brain
Explanation:
'evisceration' is generally used for organs that are not being used for transplantation
'organ harvesting' is used for transplantation.

I'm guessing here that medical science has not yet advanced to brain transplantation, so have used a more neutral term.

I think writeaway's source reference is written for non-professionals, as this would make your phrase imply the brain was being removed to be transplanted into another person - which is (not yet) possible-
Unless your client is an experimental research surgeon, or vetrinary (or Boris Karloff:)?

Both answers are correct. It indeed means removal or lifting out of the brain, but for the translation I ended up using brain prelevation.

5 Wat is prelevatie?
Prelevatie is de medische term die gebruikt wordt om het geheel van handelingen te omschrijven die nodig zijn om operationeel organen uit het lichaam van een donor te verwijderen, om ze erna te kunnen trans-planteren bij de ontvanger.
Deze vitale organen zijn maar beperkt houdbaar in een specifieke vloeistof, omdat ze niet lang zonder bloedvoorziening en zuurstof kun-nen. Het is noodzakelijk dat de donor na zijn of haar overlijden verder kunstmatig wordt beademd (*), opdat alle vitale organen voor trans-plantatie bruikbaar zouden blijven. Voor weefsels is dat niet nodig.
