It is called a promenade concert because the audience was free to move around, or walk around.

In a seaside resort it could be held on the promenade - the broad footpath adjoining the beach, probably with the orchestra or band playing on a bandstand on the beach or the promenade itself.

In these circumstances the audience may well be free to walk around. promenade on the promenade, while the concert is in progress. Then again they may prefer not to, and sit on a seat or deckchair to listen to the music.

parade with music played by a (marching) brass band

Explanation:
They usually start off from some point in the resort and march (very leisurely) up and down the streets to some other point. Usually local brass bands or from neighbouring areas and sometimes bands from other countries are invited to play. At least that's what they were in Koksijde.

agree  Lawyer-Linguist: considering it's BE and the references I've read, it seems it is the band (and not the audience) that's on the move
