Dutch term or phrase: x kan in verschillende bezettingen voorkomen
Can anyone advise on the most "musical" way to phrase this? During = African one-string fiddle.

De during kan in verschillende bezettingen voorkomen: solistisch, met begeleiding van een siyarik-kalebasrammelaar of in een ensemble met andere vedels.

x can be used in various instrumental settings/arrangements
Explanation:
Strictly speaking, the term would be 'ochestration' or 'scoring'. But that would hardly be applicable in this context, I think. See the following reference for an explanation. You might find the site as whole quite handy for your translation assignment.

Orchestration
(or-ke-STRAY-shun)
instrumental ensembles where the composer makes all decisions pertaining to instrument assignments within the score (which instruments play what notes and when they play them). This is often referred to as scoring the composition. Some compositions such as Modest Musorgsky's Pictures at an Exhibition were originally written for a specific instrument (in this case piano) and are later set for a different combination of instruments (in this case Maurice Ravel's orchestration for symphony orchestra). The purpose of orchestration is often to provide a more vivid set of tone colors for a composition or to give a different ensemble of instruments access to the composition. An example would be for a "pops" orchestra to play popular music (originally composed for a rock and roll band) in a concert.

Think I'll go with Jack's "instrumental settings" suggestion to avoid the repetition of ensemble in the sentence. Thanks for the useful glossary. Another good one I've found is at http://www.wwnorton.com/classical/glossary/ Thanks, guys!
