Dutch to English translations [PRO] Art/Literary - Music / noise abatement
Dutch term or phrase:moderator
A text about measures that must be taken by residents in a building to keep noise to a minimum: "Mocht er zich in de flat een piano bevinden, dan is het verplicht een moderator aan te brengen."
I am unsure of 'moderator' in English because of relatively few Google hits in a piano context. I don't have a dictionary of music and the online ones I've found are extremely basic. Are there any piano players out there?
Done some checking and it appears that 'muffler rail' is the term I need. Thanks, Kate! And thanks to everyone else for the input. 4 KudoZ points were awarded for this answer
