What PC did you have ten years ago?
Could you run Windows XP and Microsoft Office 2003 on that equipment? I don't think so!
Microsoft and Intel are bootstrapping the minimum system requirements to run new software higher and higher with each new generation - I'm sure a marketing guru could tell us the name for this type of interdependant creation of demand to keep BIll Gates the richest man in America [the world??].
[This is an follow-up to a couple of neutrals below, who do not understand the marketing politics of the ICT industry - like the slogan for the Olympic games in LA - "faster, longer, higher" if I recall correctly.]

Paul Peeraerts: Ik weet wel wat "aanrekening" betekent, maar begrijp de zin niet: omdat de sofware goedkoper wordt, moet men een nieuw systeem kopen?

Adam Smith: Unlike the others I don't see the problem with this! Another example: Indien de verzegeling van de software is verbroken zal TOMIKO SYSTEMS de prijs van de betreffende software aanrekenen ref. http://www.tomiko.be/v1/voorwaarden.htm. I.e an SW charge! :-)
