see detail Explanation: In this context, I would translate 'inlenen' as 'take on'. The fact that the employees are not permananent (which is what 'lenen' refers to) should be evident froom the context. A detacheringsmedewerker' is a 'sceonded employee', where 'second' means 'to transfer (an employee) temporarily to another branch or company' (Chambers Dict). This is a sort of temporary staff, and they are not uncommonly supplied by temporary staffing agencies to companies. It has nothing per se to do with overseas assignments. As far as I know, the practice is nearly unknown in NA -- can't speak for the UK. translation of a proposal for temporary and seconded staff. |

"Take on" is not correct Explanation: I'm sorry to disagree with Ken Cox on the term "take on" as the translation for "inlenen". "Take on" implies permanency of some kind, and the opposite is meant here. By definition, "Inlenen" is hiring staff from somebody else on a temporary basis, whether that be expatriate or other staff does not make any essential difference to the meaning of the term. |
