third-world country transportation Explanation: I find that ofter the meaning becomes clearer as one progresses with the document. I think they mean old-style transportation, such as camels, horses caravans, and prawns, etc. (maybe?) good luck as I could not find it anywhere. Marijke |

a third country carrier is allowed provided... Explanation: a third country carrier is allowed provided the other country also permits employing third-country carriers. E.g. The increase in code-share activity has resulted in a corresponding increase in the number and importance of code-share provisions in bilateral air agreements. However, the present policy contains no provisions regarding the negotiation of code-share rights. Canadian practice in this regard has generally been driven by the interests of Canadian carriers, whose focus has been on obtaining "third country" code-sharing rights. Air Canada’s code-share services between London and Brussels on British Midland are a typical example of third country code-share services since, for the purpose of services between Canada and Belgium, British Midland is a third country carrier. (www.tc.gc.ca/pol/en/airpolicy/IntlAirPolicy/PolicyScheduled... IAPRDocumentPartOne%20.htm - 38k ) More extensive context would be helpful. I think it is connected with protection of the rights of national carriers. zzz |
