" .. uitlijnen en **opgieten** van motoren, reduktiekasten en andere machines behoren tot het kunnen van onze mensen." Het betreft een brochure van een Belgisch bedrijf dat zich bezighoudt met scheepsmechanica, -reparatie en -afbouw. Net als bij mijn vorige vraag krijg ik genoeg hits, maar geen duidelijk beeld van wat het betekent. Ik vermoed iets dergelijks als "het bedekken/spuiten met (een vloeistof?)". Weet iemand of dat klopt en wat de juiste vertaling dan is. To spray/protect/cover?

Thanks for your very complete chain of thought! It helped me to get to my final answer. I have decided that the correct term for pouring resin to stabilize an engine (opgieten) is not 'grouting' but 'chocking (an engine)'.
