Dutch to English translations [PRO] Marketing - Social Science, Sociology, Ethics, etc. | | Dutch term or phrase: URGENT: Kijklust en sensatiezucht | | This is the title of an exhibition. I have now translated it as 'Voyeurism and sensationalism" but I don't like the sound of it, so I'd like your suggestions. Here's some info on the subject: "Ever since the first exploratory expeditions man’s fascination for exotic cultures has given rise to discomforting forms of shows and exhibitions. Much like the mentally disturbed and the disabled, people from non Western cultures have been considered food for ‘presentations’. The results were sometimes very tragic. The exhibition presents colourful posters announcing such showings, disgraceful black-and-white photographs of the events and – what’s even worse – the shroud of anthropological ‘scientificness’ that wraps them. |
