the final result of measures taken Explanation: 'middelen nemen' kan eigenlijk niet in het Nederlands en ook niet in het Engels 'to take means' , so I would either use 'measures' maatregelen and change the verb accordingly. final result of the available means -or-the sum of measures taken, or a combination thereof. |

Security ultimately comprises Explanation: Dutch is a lot fonder of colon use than English, so I would offer this as an option: 'security ultimately comprises every measure taken for prevention and safety, from the design and construction of a system through to operation and shutdown'. |

the whole/ entirety/ aggregate of measures Explanation: The author does not seem to be a language professional. Please read "maatregelen" instead of "middelen". "Security is the whole/ entirety/ aggregate of measures taken in all stages of conception, construction, running and shutting down of a system concerning/ regarding prevention and protection/ security." Het geheel: the whole, the entirety [ please note that there is a spelling mistake in one of the answers someone else has sent you]. Het geheel [som der delen]: the whole ---> entirety, aggregate. In haar geheel genomen: bodily, in whole. Het middel [hulpmiddel]: means ---> resources, funds; ´s lands middelen: the country´s resources. Hij wendt alle hem ten dienste staande middelen aan: he uses all means in his power/ at his command. Met alle beschikbare middelen: by all (available) means. Maatregelen nemen: to take measures/ steps/ action. For example: to make arrangements to ensure that everything runs smoothly. Kind regards. |
