Dutch to English translations [PRO]
Transport / Transportation / Shipping / Specific truck terminology
Dutch term or phrase: insteek
This is a freight forwarding order. The vehicle specified is a Tautline with an 'insteek' of 2.6 m. A Google search of 'Tautliner insteek' yeields plenty of results but nothing with the term in English. This may need a truck driver!

English translation:aperture height
Explanation:
Zoals ik het begrijp is de insteek(hoogte) de vrije opening (in het geval van een Tautliner m.n. aan de zijkant) tussen vloer en frame (gordijnrail) aan de bovenzijde. Deze maat bepaalt hoe hoog pallets mogen zijn om ze in de trailer te kunnen laden.

-> But you still have to specify 'height' as this is also used for the total width.
