Science - Zoology / type of spider
Dutch term or phrase: getijdenspin
Can't find a single Google for this term so I'm hoping there are some arachnophiles out there! Not much joy searching for a literal translation either. Comes up in an interview with an arachnologist about his work on the Comoros Islands. He's giving a few examples of types of spiders that have adapted particularly well to the volcanic environment.

Ook heel specifiek is de zogenaamde getijdenspin die er een nest maakt in een gat in de vulkanische rots. Bij vloed sluit een klapdeurtje het gat af en blijft ze droog!

Behaviour of this spider certainly seems to mirror that of the trap-door spider. Nice one. Thanks!
