Eigentlich ist der Gießturnus die Periode zwischen zwei Gießvorgängen, genause wie Susanne Bittner es in ihrer Antwort angab. Die richtige Übersetzung ist also "Gießvorgang".
Dies wurde auch belegt, und zwar in folgender Dissertation:

Beispielsatz aus dieser Dissertation:
