I have a problem with cross-trades. Does it have a specific meaning in the transportation & logistics context?

crosstrades (cross-trades)
Explanation:
In logistics it refers to the coordination of a chain of transporters. They all work as partners to deliver goods internationally, not just one means of transportation to one destination, but several, even many means of transportation going to several destinations, but all working in the same chain as partners.

Thanks. What I've found, however, is "CROSS-TRADES - Foreign-to-foreign trade carried by ships from a nation other than the two trading nations." http://www.trans-inst.org/seawords.htm#c and finally decided to go with this.
