For the time being, all I’m concerned about is getting down and up the next monumental dune formation

The speaker is testing a 4x4 car in the desert. He is doing activities like climbing hills and dunes with the car.


What does "down and up" mean here? Is it the same as "up and down"? I mean does the speaker mean "climbing down and climbing up"? What confuses me is the order of the phrase, it should have been "up and down"???
