Medical - Medical: Health Care / adverse events
English term or phrase: BI collapsed preferred terms
Frequency [N (%)] of patients with adverse events occurring with incidence in preferred term greater than or equal to 3 % by treatment, primary system organ
class and preferred term - using BI collapsed preferred terms for the 1-year trials.

I am a little bit puzzled with this expression. Help me, please!!!

English translation:FYI (a bit of a pointer)
Explanation:
Aot my field, but this seems to be standard language in the field in question. At a guess, 'collapsing' is a statistical or numerical analysis operation and the 'preferred terms' are defined terms preferred by some organisation.

Maybe someone who knows the field can give a more specific answer

see e.g.

Data Analyses

For selected AEs (all causality), including pneumonia, similar terms were collapsed to identify whether a small increase in the incidence of several related AEs might, when combined, lead to a relevant difference between treatment arms in the collapsed term. The collapsed term *pneumonia (indicated by an asterisk) includes the following preferred terms: pneumonia not otherwise specified (nos), pneumonia bacterial nos, bronchopneumonia nos, pneumonia pseudomonal, pneumonia Bordetella, pneumonia pneumococcal, pneumonia staphylococcal, pneumonia streptococcal, and pneumonitis nos.
