"+10mm neck Femoral Bearing Head"

Has anybody an idea why this head is named “Femoral Bearing”?

I asked the client, but the only answer I received is the following:
10 mm – relates to the offset inside the head.

English translation:femoral bearing as in ball bearing
Explanation:
bearing = A device that supports, guides and reduces friction of motion between moving and fixed motor parts.

Our model consists of "a femoral bearing", a tibial bearing, and arbitrary numbers of ligamentous filaments that are modeled as nonlinear springs.
From this sentence, and there are good illustrations too, it is clear that "bearing" is used as a noun. My best interpretation is as ball bearing, although I also considered bearing as in alignment.
