English to English translations [PRO] Medical - Medical (general)
English term or phrase:V3 + 7 weeks
In a medical study. Context ex. "Enter the patient's weight at V3 + 7 weeks"
What does the 'V' stand for in the expression? Is it for 'visit (of the doctor)'. Would 'V3' be the 3rd visit of the doctor / the 3rd inspection.
Thanks. 'V' surely is for 'visit'. What '+ 7 weeks' actually means, I don't know, and maybe never will know. I just put it as it was, only translated, into Finnish, by the way. 3 KudoZ points were awarded for this answer
Yes V3 would be Visit 3 of the clinical study. Without more context I would guess +7 weeks means that V3 corresponds to week 7 of the study or that the patient is weighed 7 weeks after Visit 3 (though that sounds unlikely).

v3 + 7 weeks
Visit 3 + 7 weeks
Explanation: I agree with Helen. I have participated as a researcher in a medical study with exactly this nomenclature.
