Would like to know what the term trabeculation means
Teresa
English translation:see text
Explanation:
This phenomenon is a consequence of an bladder outlet obstruction. To overcome the obstruction the bladder muscles become hypertrophic (thicker) and they may be seen through the bladder mucosa. The result is the tipical appearance of the bladder inner wall: thick strings of intertwined muscle fibers (trabeculae). See images.

Thanking you for your answer. My nephew is due to have surgery for bladder diverticuli and his specialist has spoken to his mother telling her that there were signs of trabecular bladder and she would like to speak to my sister about this. My sister has been extremely worried since as she doesn't understand what it means and whether it will affect his health as a child and as an adult especially as he only has one kidney. Does this condition heal itself?
