Hi, I am looking for a way to translate a park in Japan called (駅北公園 (Ekikita Koen) into English. This park is likely on the northside of a train/subway station being that: 駅(Eki) means station, 北 (Kita) means north and 公園(Kouen) means park.

Is there a common name for this type of park in English?

"Ekkita Park Station North" is also possible, as the park may have several stations

agree  Joe L: I applaud your offering Yo help, even though Melzie and Marie Helene sort of chased the poor guy away. /// Melzie, come on! Let's give it a chance!

disagree  Melzie: for the above reasons

agree  Jack Doughty: Though I also agree with Melzie, there may be circumstances in which a translation of the name is required. And some names are always conventionally translated, e.g. Red Square (not Krasnaya Ploshchad) in Moscow.

neutral  Dave Calderhead: if it is the name of teh park not the station - the surely it should be Station North Park or North Station Park?
