\"Opera and all similar kinds of music are very special and beautiful, but unfortunately not very appreciated these days. Are we losing the taste for classical music? Why do teenagers just stick to pop, rock and dance music and ignore everything else. Come on! For those of you who say \"I hate classical music! I hate opera!\" Have you ever really listened to this kind of music? Have you ever just tried to listen? Or you\'re saying you hate it just because others do? Think about it. And if you want to give it a try, Emma Shapplin\'s music might be a good beginning. One thing I can guarantee to you is that you\'ll never regret it.

************

\"Carmine Meo\" was produced by Jean-Patrick Capdevielle, and he, along with several other artists, composed all the songs in the album, including music and lyrics. Emma\'s real name is actually Crystèle Joliton (now how about that?). If you really lean into her, you might want to check out this site - www.emmashapplin.com - for further information about the albuum Carmine Meo, and other productions of Jean-Patrick Capdevielle. It\'s a great site, I really advise you to drop by.

************

My favourite songs from the album are ***\"Spente le Stelle\"*** (along with \"De L\'Abîme au Rivage...\"), \"Vedi, Maria...\", \"Venere, Miserere...\" and also \"Reprendo Mai Più...\". Her music is so calm, so full of meaning... Although they are in Italian, I can figure them all right. Beside, every lyric in the CD had an english translation in the album cover (which were very helpful...).

************

Along with Sarah Brightman, she is definitely one of the greatest singers that I know of. What can I say, I love her. (Selina)

\"SPENTE LE STELLE\"

Quel cuor perdesti
Per un miraggio
Quel cuor tradisti
Odiar di più, non puó!
La mia voce, senti
Il suo dolor... o no?
La tua sparí
E io, pazza, t\'aspetto!

Dimenticar...
O non più vivere
Ormai, salvo...
La notte... la notte... la notte...
Ah!...

***Spente le stelle***
Col pallido raggio di luna
Piange l\'amore
Che si lancia come l\'onda poi se ne va
Vuota, la notte
E la sua speranza breve
Ora sgorga l\'amaro pianto
Un cuor ferito, disperato passa qua

Dunque fuggisti
I sogni vuoti
Dunque perdersi
I brevi vortici

Dimenticar...
O non più vivere
Ormai, salvo...
La notte... la notte... la notte...
Ah!...

***Spente le stelle***
Col pallido raggio di luna
Piange l\'amore
Che si lancia come l\'onda poi se ne va
Vuota, la notte
E la sua speranza breve
Ora sgorga l\'amaro pianto
Un cuor ferito, disperato passa qua

\"THE STARS HAVE GONE OUT\"

You\'ve lost this heart
While chasing after a mirage
You\'ve betrayed this heart
And I can do nothing but hate you
Can you hear my pain?
Your voice dies
And stupid as I am, I wait for you forever
Forget
or live no longer
or, then, only the night, the night, the night!

***The stars have gone out***
With the pale moon beam
Love cries
That rushes forward like a wave
Then disappears
The night is empty
And the hope it brings is brief
Bitter tears fall
A broken heart, despairing
passes by...

What has happened to the empty dreams?
Where have the brief temptations gone?

gone out/ went out

Explanation:
gone out /went out - from the Italian verb spegnere

Spente means gone out/extinguished in Italian.

You probably refer to "Spente le Stelle".
